Charlotte started at our Registered Short Breaks Service, the Paceys in Leeds back in October 2013 as a support worker. Charlotte had never worked in social care before and had recently studied child care.
Charlotte took to her role as if she had been doing it for years. She was excellent with all our guests, made time to get to know everyone, and most importantly, she got to know her role and what was expected of her.
It soon became apparent that Charlotte was going to have a bright future in social care. She did not hide the fact that she wanted to move up in her role and started to take on extra work, working closely with her line manager. Charlotte was working for the Trust when a temporary, more senior, position became available.
Charlotte applied and was successful. She grabbed this opportunity and her passion and drive were noticed straight away. Charlotte did not hide away from any tasks that were asked of her, and within two weeks she was leading guest review meetings, working alongside other professionals, striving to make a difference.
Charlotte recently applied and was successful in becoming Assistant Manager permanently at the Paceys. She is an asset to the team and whatever ”it” is, Charlotte has “it”!
