Ryedale Art Exhibition

To celebrate Dignity Action Day our customers in the Ryedale and Whitby region decided to hold an art exhibition at Mr Wilf’s Cafe.

Art is something that everyone, whatever their ability can create. Whether it is painting, photography, computer generated images, sculptures or textiles.

People from services across the region contributed their best work and with the help of Fiona Strachan, a spectacular display was created. We invited families, local councillors and commissioners to help us celebrate.

On the 1st March 2016, the artworks filled the cafe and the corridor and looked amazing. We had a great turn out of visitors and really lovely feedback. Many of the artists came to the exhibition to speak about their work; a couple of them even sold their pieces! The local paper came along to take photographs. It was a fantastic celebration of people’s achievements.

If you would like to see the exhibition it will be on display at Mr Wilf’s Cafe during March 2016. To find out more about Mr Wilf’s Cafe click here.

Following the success of the exhibition the Ryedale team are looking at future exhibitions. If you would like to get involved please contact Louise by emailing l.crampton@wilfward.org.uk.
