When Jason moved into a new home in one of our York services with other individuals he began to build meaningful relationships. Once reclusive, he now feels like part of a family home. He engages in conversations, goes to the pub to play pool with friends, regularly attends football games at the York City Football Club ground, and enjoys socialising in the lounge – remarkable new behaviours for him.
His lifetime dream has always been to go on holiday, fly on an airplane, and walk barefoot on the beach. Thanks to a generous donation from a local charity, he is now planning his trip.
Separated from his family at a young age, he didn’t even know his parents’ names. Through increased communication and the development of new relationships, he disclosed that he had a brother. With the dedicated support of his team, it was discovered that he actually has three brothers. The team has successfully helped him locate them, and he is now in the process of re-establishing contact.
This story is a testament to the transformative power of relationships and the incredible progress that can be achieved with the right support. Let’s celebrate these heart-warming achievements and continue to foster strong, supportive relationships within our community.
