Kath, who lives in the East Riding region, and had decided to reduce her time at day service. Kath now has one day a week supported from home where she has more meaningful activity and greater choice and control over what she does. She now plans the activity she would like to do, she has started to use the gym and is planning to go trampolining! This fits in well with her goal to lose weight and get fit, so that she can start to go horse riding.
There are lots of conversations about healthy eating and the importance of exercise. She is also planning to start to volunteering. Kath’s is a story of admirable determination, and is a shining example of how greater empowerment, independence and autonomy can be achieved through outstanding support.
