Today, we are pleased to announce that The Wilf Ward Family Trust celebrates its 37th anniversary, marking nearly four decades of commitment to the communities we serve across the Yorkshire region. As we reflect on our journey so far and set our sights on the challenges and opportunities of the future, we have chosen a symbolic and eco-conscious way to commemorate this milestone.
To recognise this anniversary we have planted 37 trees, each symbolising a year of growth and resilience that defines The Wilf Ward Family Trust and the individuals we support. In conjunction with this celebratory tree planting, we are pleased to announce our new partnership with Tree Nation, a global reforestation platform demonstrating our commitment to environmental sustainability.
Through our partnership with Tree Nation, we are taking another step towards environmental responsibility. Our commitment to sustainability is a part of our core values. This new partnership will ensure that our website is now Net Zero, as Tree Nation automatically compensates for all the CO2 emissions our website generates by planting trees to offset these emissions. You can find further information on our sustainability efforts and view our Tree Nation Forest here
“Our partnership with Tree Nation may be just a small step towards creating a more sustainable world but we hope this encourages other organisations to recognise their own organisational landmarks in similar ways. Just like the Trust has done within its own communities, we hope that these trees provide shelter and develop deep roots and continue to grow over the coming decades”. remarks Paul McCay, CEO of The Wilf Ward Family Trust.
As we celebrate our 37th anniversary, we extend our gratitude to everyone who has been part of our incredible journey. We look forward to continuing our mission of supporting individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs to lead fulfilling lives for many years to come!
